Leon's Furniture Limited Donates $10,000 To Port Cares in Support of Community Programs
Port Colborne, ON, July 17, 2026 - Port Cares is proud to announce a generous $10,000 donation from Leon's Furniture Limited, presented by Terry Leon, Chairman of Leon's Furniture Limited.
The gift, directed toward Port Cares' general operations and programs, will help sustain the full range of services offered through the Reach Out Centre, from school lunch kits and hot meal programs to emergency food support for individuals and families facing crisis.
The donation arrives at acritical time. As demand at the Reach Out Centre continues to grow year over year, contributions like this one ensure Port Cares can continue to meet that need without compromise.
"This meaningful gift reflects the Leon family's enduring connection to the Port Colborne community," said Chandra Hardeen, Executive Director of Port Cares. "While Leon's serves communities across Canada, many members of the Leon family call Port Colborne home and their commitment to making a difference here is felt deeply. As more individuals and families turn to the Reach Out Centre for assistance, generous gifts like this help ensure we can continue to meet that growing need."
Port Cares knows that generosity has a ripple effect. What begins as a single act of kindness can create waves that reach far beyond the original gift, touching the lives of individuals, families, and neighbors across the community in ways that are difficult to measure but impossible to ignore.
Leon's Furniture Limited has been serving Canadian families for generations, and this contribution is a reminder that the most successful businesses are often those most deeply rooted in the communities they call home. It is Leon’s hope that this gesture of goodwill spurs other local and national companies to donate whatever they can to this most worthy cause in this time of need.
Port Cares extends its heartfelt thanks to Terry Leon, the Leon family, and Leon's Furniture Limited for their generosity, their community spirit, and their belief in the work being done every day at the Reach Out Centre.
